HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Zak Rice went 4-for-5, with two runs driven in and one run scored as the Alabama A&M University baseball team got back into the win column on Tuesday afternoon with a 13-7 victory over Stillman at Bulldog Field.
Alabama A&M (2-6) pounded out 14 hits and led 10-1 through five innings before cruising to the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Alabama A&M jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three runs on three hits and took advantage of an error in the bottom of the first inning.
Brycen Hammonds opened the frame with a base hit to right center and stopped at second when
Alex Diaz singled to left.
Jared Tribett flied out to left as both runners tagged and advanced a base. Hammonds scored on a wild pitch and Diaz came around to score on a ground out by
Tristan Curless. After a walk to
Blake Martin, Rice singled to left and
Dre Amaral reached on a throwing error, allowing Martin to come all the way around to score.
The Bulldogs plated one run in the second, four in the third and two more in the fourth for a 10-1 advantage.
Stillman picked up three in the seventh, before the Bulldogs put the game away in the bottom of the frame with three runs on a pair of hits, extending the lead to 13-4.
The Tigers plated three runs in the ninth, but it wasn't enough as AAMU secured its second win.

- Troy Davis went 2-for-2, with three RBI and one run scored
- Isaiah Hoskins (1-3) took the loss as he surrendered six runs (five earned) on five hits and walked two in 2.0 innings
- Raymond Vaughn, Caleb Schreiner, Dylan Speakman, Raymond Clark, Cody Clark pitched in relief

Alabama A&M returns to the road for the next seven games, starting on Friday with a trip to New Orleans. First pitch against the Privateers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Maestri Field.
