STARKVILLE, Miss. | Briana Cox broke her own school record in the hammer throw, while Bruce Davis broke a school record in the shot as the Alabama A&M University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed at the Alumni Bulldog Relays at the Carl Maddox Track and Field Complex.
 
"It was great to see our athletes compete with some of the nation's best and not flinch as we come home with over a dozen personal best marks and two school records," Alabama A&M head coach Andrew Murphy said,
 
Cox, who set a school record in the hammer throw at the 49er Classic a week ago, didn't waste any time surpassing her mark. She broke the previous record of 49.70m in just her first attempt and finished third with a mark of 50.24m.
 
Much like Cox, Davis also broke his own record in the shot put. He set the mark at the 49er Classic last weekend and surpassed it with a toss of 15.22m as he finished sixth.
 
WOMEN'S TRACK EVENTS

• The 4x800m relay team of Minka Isom, Ajanae Cressey, Taylor Wingo and Sanyae Gibson placed fifth, with a time of 10:26.06
• In the 400m, Olivia Andrews finished 10^th, logging a time of 58.09
• Ana-Liese Torian posted a new personal record in the 100m hurdles as she finished second in 13.34
• Also in the 100m hurdles, Shakiera Woods placed 10^th in 14.27
• Isom placed sixth in the 800m, logging a time of 2:20.25, while Gibson claimed eighth in 2:22.91
• In the 100m dash, Victoya Smith finished eighth in 11.92

 
WOMEN'S FIELD EVENTS

• Briana Cox continued her strong start with a third-place finish in the hammer throw at 50.24m
• Niasija Wright also competed in the hammer throw, finishing seventh with a mark of 46.18m
• In the long jump, Miahna Harden and Amber Jamison placed fourth and sixth, respectively, with marks of 5.92m and 5.77m
• Also in the long jump, De'Aisha Stephens had a leap of 5.58m, which gave her eighth place 

MEN'S TRACK EVENTS

• In the 800m, Lawrence Armstead claimed sixth, with a time of 1:57.60
• Eric Barker finished ninth in the 400m hurdlers, logging a time of 54.30
• The 4x400m relay team of Kody Pugh, Jahson Gordon, Talil Atkins and Donovan Horne finished with a time of 3:14.35 to take fourth
• Also in the 4x400m relay, the team of Armstead, Andrew Reaves, Isaac Jackson and Brandon McLaren placed ninth in 3:30.83

MEN'S FIELD EVENTS

• Ezekiel Salma placed eighth in the hammer throw, with a toss of 44.32m
• Bruce Davis finished sixth in the shot put, with a school-record mark of 15.22m
• Justin Walker placed ninth in the long jump at 7.15m
