MONROE, La. | Chevalier Dorris and
Jared Tribett each collected one hit as the Alabama A&M University baseball team opened its three-game series at Louisiana-Monroe (ULM) with an 11-1 loss in seven innings on Friday night at Lou St. Amant Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
ULM (9-5) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, plating five runs on five hits to grab a quick 5-0 lead.
Alabama A&M (2-11) got a run back in the top of the second inning.
Jared Tribett began the frame with a double to center and moved to third on a wild pitch.
Zak Rice grounded out to the shortstop as Tribett came across to score, closing the margin to 5-1.
The Warhawks plated a run in the second, one in the fourth and put the game out of reach with four runs in the sixth for the 11-1 advantage.
GAME NOTES
- Alabama A&M finished with one run on two hits and left two on base
- Chevalier Dorris and Jared Tribett each had one hit
- Anthony Mateo (0-3) got the start, giving up nine runs on 11 hits, with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings in taking the loss

- ULM finished with 11 runs on 12 hits and stranded five on base
- Michelle Artzberger went 2-for-4, with four RBI and two runs scored
- Bryce Blaser was 1-for-3, with three runs driven in and one run scored
- Daniel Gonzalez (1-0) pitched four innings, surrendering just one run on one hit, with six strikeouts
- Chipper Menard and Dalton Burrell pitched in relief
