HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Dre Amaral and
Miles Jackson belted solo home runs as the Alabama A&M University baseball team opened its three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series on Friday with a 20-3 loss in seven innings to Bethune-Cookman at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bethune-Cookman (25-17 overall, 15-4 SWAC) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Alabama A&M (9-31, 5-14) got a run back in the bottom of the frame, courtesy of a leadoff solo homer by Amaral.
However, the Wildcats used a 10-run second inning to extend the advantage to 15-1.
BCU stretched the lead to 16-1 with a run in the third inning as AAMU got a run back, trimming the deficit to 16-2 after three innings.
A solo homer by Jackson cut the margin to 16-3 in the sixth, but Bethune-Cookman proved to be too much, plating four runs in the seventh for a 20-3 victory.
