NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Ana-Liese Torian broke a 31-year-old school record and Briana Cox continued to rewrite a school record as the Alabama A&M University men's and women's track and field teams closed out the final day of the Music City Challenge on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Outdoor Track.
 
Torian qualified for the 100m hurdles earlier in the day at 13.25, but exploded in the finals, with a time of 12.99, shattering the school record. She broke Taiwo Aladefa's mark of 13.19, which was set in 1993 as Torian won the event.
 
Cox, who is already the school record holder in the hammer throw, continues to push the distance record in the event. She broke her own mark of 52.83m, which she set at the Tennessee Invite on April 5. On Saturday, she completed a toss of 53.89m in her sixth toss, which gave her a third-place finish.
 
WOMEN'S FIELD EVENTS

• Niasija Wright placed eighth in the hammer throw at 47.44m
• In the triple jump, Amber Jamison and Miahna Harden went fifth and sixth, with jumps of 11.72m and 11.66m, respectively

 
MEN'S TRACK EVENTS

• Eric Barker finished fourth in the 400m hurdles, logging a time of 54.50
• The 4x400m relay team of Talil Atkins, Isaac Jackson, Eric Barker and Emmanuel Murray placed third, with a time of 3:16.18

 
MEN'S FIELD EVENTS

• In the high jump, Charlie Harper finished 10^th, with a leap of 1.82m
• Brandon McLaren set a personal best in the pole vault and just missed a school record as he finished eighth at 4.40m
• In the triple jump, Joshua Graham and Lance Powell placed third and sixth, respectively, at 14.67m and 14.54m
