HUNTSVILLE, Ala. |Tristan Curless went 3-for-5, with four RBI and one run scored as the Alabama A&M University returned from its nine-game road swing with a 14-4 victory in seven innings over Mississippi Valley State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game on Friday at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Mississippi Valley State (8-17 overall, 0-9 SWAC) opened the scoring in the top of the first with one run, but Alabama A&M answered in the bottom of the frame.

Dre Amaral drew a walk and advanced to third on a
Brycen Hammonds single to center.
Tristan Curless followed with a single down the line in right as Amaral scored.
Miles Jackson walked to load the bases as
Jesus Riera brought Hammonds across on a sacrifice fly to right as the Bulldogs grabbed a 2-1 lead.

Alabama A&M (4-24, 2-8) plated four runs on three hits in the second to push the lead to 6-1.

Angel Rivera opened the frame with a walk. After a groundout advanced Rivera to second, Amaral singled to put runners on the corners. After a pitching change, Hammonds walked, loading the bases. Curless followed with a base hit to right, clearing the bases as Rivera, Amaral and Hammonds scored. Jackson flied out to left as Curless scored.

MVSU got a run back in to the top of the third, but AAMU responded with a pair of runs, extending the advantage to 8-2.Â

Both teams plated a run in the fifth and the Delta Devils added another run in the top of the sixth, cutting the deficit to 9-4.Â

However, Alabama A&M put the game away with a five-run sixth inning as the Bulldogs cruised to the 14-4 victory.
