HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Dre Amaral had a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-4, with seven RBI and one run scored as the Alabama A&M University baseball team won the series on Sunday with a 15-5 victory in eight innings over Mississippi Valley State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Alabama A&M (5-25 overall, 3-9 SWAC) opened the scoring with three runs on just one hit in the bottom of the second inning.

Jesus Riera and
Zak Rice were hit by pitches, but Riera was out at third on a
Blake Martin fielder's choice. With two down,
Chevalier Dorris walked to load the bases and Dre Amara delivered the big hit with a bases clearing single to center as the Bulldogs grabbed a 3-0 advantage.

Alabama A&M loaded the bases in the third and came away with a run as
Brycen Hammonds, who reached on a single to left, scored on a Riera sacrifice fly as the Bulldogs extended the lead to 4-0.

Mississippi Valley State (9-18, 1-10) got a run back in the top half of the fifth inning, closing the gap to 4-1.

The Bulldogs plated two runs as Amaral delivered another huge double down the line in left, scoring Rice and Martin as AAMU pushed the lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth.

The Delta Devils closed the gap to 6-5 with a four-run seventh inning.

However, Alabama A&M responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame, extending the lead to 10-5.

The Bulldogs ended the game in the eighth with five runs on three hits and took advantage of an error for the 15-5 victory.

- Jesus Campa (0-1) took the loss in 2.2 innings as he surrendered four runs on two hits, walked three, hit three and struck out one
