HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The D. Thornton Hoopz Camps and Clinic will host its Third Annual 2.0 Experience girls and boys basketball camp on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AAMU Event Center, women's basketball head coach Dawn Thornton announced. The camp is free and open to all ages.
Â
The camp includes individual drill work, small sided competitions, as well as high quality instruction and skill development.Â
Â
"I am a passionate advocate for community engagement through mentoring children and young adults. I was fortunate to have had exceptional mentors growing up, and their impact on my life has been profound," Thornton said. "My goal is to make D. Thornton Hoopz a bully-free zone, where every child, regardless of athletic ability or financial status, has the opportunity to learn from the best".Â
Â
DT Hoopz would also like to thank all sponsors and donors who have ensured the success of the 2.0 experience camp.
Â
"We couldn't be more grateful to our amazing sponsors and donors. We want to extend a special thank you to Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, the AAMU Divas of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Pastor Troy and The Fellowship of Praise, and Urban Edge Network", Thornton said.Â
