NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Olivier Jean set a personal best in the men's long jump as the Alabama A&M University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed on Friday during the opening day of the Vanderbilt Invitational at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
Jean, who competed in the unseeded long jump, had a jump of 7.34m to win the event, highlighting the opening day for the Bulldog track and field program.
In the seeded men's long jump,
Justin Walker (7.07m) and
Joshua Graham (7.05m) finished 11
th and 12
th, respectively.
Also, in the weight throw,
Ezekiel Salama placed eighth, with a toss of 16.89m.
In women's action,
Amaya Mitchell-Howard set a personal record in the weight throw at 16.43m to place 10
thand Anjane Cressey finished eighth in the unseeded long jump, with of a leap of 5.38m.
Alabama A&M concludes its two-day meet at the Vanderbilt Invitational at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
