ITTA BENA, Miss. | Nisaan Martinez hit .611 and finished with 13 kills as the Alabama A&M University volleyball team got back into the win column with a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) sweep of Mississippi Valley State, 3-0, on Monday night at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

Alabama A&M jumped out to big leads in the first two sets over Mississippi Valley State, winning 25-17 and 25-11, before closing out the match with a 25-11 third-set victory.

Alabama A&M (14-4 overall, 5-1 SWAC) finished with 36 kills, 31 assists, 30 digs, nine service aces and 7.0 total blocks.

Martinez recorded 13 kills, two digs, one assist and one service ace to pace the AAMU offense.
Briana Smith dished out 16 assists and four digs, while
Fatima Ramirez chipped in with four kills and four digs.

Mississippi Valley State (3-11, 0-6) finished with 18 kills, 29 digs, 18 assists, 6.0 total team blocks and two service aces.

Alaya Rhodes led the Devilettes with seven digs, five kills and one service ace. Leticia Franco tallied eight assists.
