Kelani Talakai earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) volleyball weekly honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Jackman, the SWAC's Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, posted two double-doubles in kills and digs as the Bulldogs won a pair of five-set matches last week. She finished with 40 kills, 33 digs, five assists and four services against Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M. Jackman averaged 4.0 kills and 3.3 digs per set in the two matches and registered 23 kills and 20 digs versus BCU.
Talakai earned her second consecutive SWAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after finishing with 59 digs, including a career-best 40 in the 3-2 victory over Bethune-Cookman. She averaged 5.9 digs per set.
Jackman shared the Co-Offensive Player of the Week accolade with Prairie View A&M's D'Mya Hill, while Southern's Jordan Felix received Setter of the Week recognition.
Alabama A&M returns to the road for its next four matches as the Bulldogs will visit Jackson State next Sunday (Oct. 12). First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
