BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University outside hitter
Rayishon Jackman was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Volleyball Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Jackman, who has earned the honor five times this season, finished with 33 kills, 19 digs, four service aces and 1.0 total team blocks in matches against Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State. She posted a double-double of 19 kills (hitting .351) and 12 digs in a four-set victory over Mississippi Valley State.
Prairie View A&M's Kylee Owens and Leila Smalls earned the SWAC's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively. Kamrynn Clay, of Alabama State, and Karys Dove, of Jackson State, were tabbed co-Setters of the Week.
Alabama A&M concludes the regular season this weekend with a pair of road matches as the Bulldogs visit Alcorn State on Friday and travel to Southern on Sunday.
