THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University men's and women's track and field teams will be in action this weekend as the Bulldogs compete in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The SWAC championships are a two-day event, starting on Saturday and completing on Sunday and will be streamed live on the SWAC Digital Network during the final day, beginning at 12 p.m.
Alabama A&M has had several highlights this winter, including
Laila Gaynor, who has won the 400 meters in a pair of invitationals. She ran a season-best time of 54.62 at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational and also finished second in the 200m at that meet, earning her SWAC Track Performer of the Week.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs have three student-athletes who have broken school records.
Juan Osorio broke his own mark in the 3000m, clocking a time of 9:14.27 at the UAB Green & Gold Invite, while Braven Kibitok set the 800m school mark of 1:53.56 at the Vanderbilt Invitational and the 1 mile, with a time of 4:23.14, at the UAB Green & Gold Invite.
Ezekiel Salama also broke his own mark in the weight throw, throwing a school-best record of 17.69m at the South Alabama Invitational.
Last year, Texas Southern won the men's crown, while the Florida A&M women won the indoor title.
