THE HILL | Former Alabama A&M University volleyball student-athlete Saldy Amparo-Smith signed a professional contract with VTV Binh Dien Long An, the club announced earlier this month. Amparo-Smith joins the Vietnam-based team ahead of the 2025 season, which is set to begin in March.
"Saldy has always exemplified dedication and talent on and off the court", AAMU head coach Dr. Brandon Reeves said. "As she embarks on this exciting journey to play professionally in Vietnam, we could not be prouder. Her hard work has opened new doors, and I cannot wait to see her shine on this international stage. Congratulations Saldy, your future is bright!"
VTV Binh Dien Long An Volleyball Club is a professional volleyball club in Long An province, sponsored by Binh Dien Fertilizer Company in Vietnam.
Amparo-Smith spent two years with the Bulldog program after playing two seasons at Edward Waters University, both under Dr. Reeves. During her time on The Hill, the Dominican Republic native tallied over 500 kills, over 300 digs, over 75 blocks and over 40 service aces.
