ATLANTA | Seniors Alisha Wilson and Kalia Walker were both named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) First Team, the conference office announced Monday evening.
The all-conference honors were voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. In order to be eligible for awards, student-athletes must have participated in a minimum of 75 percent of team games played this season.
Walker finished the regular season with 390 points, averaging 15 points a game. The Alexander, Arkansas native led the Maroon and White in triples, notching 49 on the season and has made over 130 free throws. Walker has led the Bulldogs in 13 of the 26 games she's played. She has earned a SWAC Weekly honor four times this season, which tied for the most of any team at the time of voting. She reached her 1000th division one career point in the game against Florida A&M in Huntsville. Walker leads the SWAC in most points in a single game, recording 30 points in the historic victory over North Alabama.
Wilson, the preseason Defensive Player of the Year, recorded both her 1000th career point and 1000th career rebound this season, as well as her 50th career double-double. She picked up six double-doubles in a row and led the Bulldogs in rebounds in 23 of the 30 games she played. She paced the Bulldogs in steals in 16 games and led in blocks in 17 games. Wilson won SWAC Impact Player of the week three times this season. She scored a season-high of 20 points and a season-high of 17 points twice this season.
