Women's Basketball to Compete in Women's National Invitation Tournament

FORT COLLINS, CO | For the first time in Division I program history, the Alabama A&M University women's basketball team was selected to participate in the 27th annual Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament, the tournament officials announced Sunday night.

The 48-team tournament strives to be an event that showcases the depth and competitive excellence found throughout college basketball. The Postseason WNIT will release its fill bracket, including matchups, locations, and start times for the opening round, on Monday.

The Bulldogs, recording the first 20+ win season in the Division I era, notched a third seed entering the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament. The Maroon and White fell to the Alcorn State Braves in the quarterfinals, with a narrow 56-53 decision.
