ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama A&M University's
Laila Gaynor continues her outstanding spring season by winning the 400 meters and
Bravin Kibitok broke a 31-year old school record in the 800m to highlight the final day of the Georgia Tech Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track.
Gaynor won the 400m logging a time of 53.08 to defeat Vanderbilt's Josie Donelson (53.73) and North Florida's Smilla Kolbe (53.98). She also placed sixth in the 200m, posting a time of 24.05, while
Victoya Smith was 11
th in 24.33.
Kibitok broke a 31-year school mark in the 800m, registering a time of 1:50.98, to finish 11
th. He time broke John Lambert's mark of 1:52.44, set in 1994.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Smith, Gaynor,
Shelby Sanders and
Brianna Samuels earned a 11
th-place finish, recording a time of 3:48.10.
In the women's triple jump, Akira Coleman and
Amber Jamison finished 10
th and 11
th, logging jumps of 11.70m and 11.63m, respectively.
The men's 4x100m relay team of
Talil Atkins,
Justin Walker,
Sherman Lattimore and
Dohnavon Hunt finished fifth, registering a time of 40.48.
In the men's 4x400m relay, the team of
Dohnavon Hunt,
Isaac Jackson, Atkins and
Eric Barker placed eighth, with a time of 3:11.43.
