THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University baseball team scored 10 runs through the first two innings and rolled to a 19-4 victory in seven innings over Tuskegee on Tuesday afternoon from the Bulldog Baseball Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Alabama A&M (10-29) sent 11 guys to the plate in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs to grab a 5-0 lead.
Trey Rutledge led off the frame with a walk and
Dre Amaral was hit by pitch.
Kylan Duncan followed with a base hit to right center, scoring Rutledge. Amaral came across when
Elvis Victoriano struck out and Duncan scored when
Angel Rivera reached on an error.
KJ Stanfield and
Xavier O'Neal drew walks to load the bases.
AJ Anderson was issued a base on balls, scoring Rivera. Rutledge, batting for the second time in the inning, was hit by a pitch, plating Stanfield.
The Bulldogs added five more runs in the second.
Duncan,
Charles Morris and
Kenny Glover drew walks to begin the inning and load the bases. Rivera scored Duncan was hit by a pitch. Stanfield and O'Neal drew back-to-back walks as Morris and Glover scored. Rivera came across on a double play and Stanfield scored on a passed ball, giving AAMU a commanding 10-0 advantage.
Alabama A&M stretched its lead in the third with three more runs, but Tuskegee (16-29) ended the shutout with four runs in the fourth, closing the gap to 13-4.
The Bulldogs put the game away with three runs in the fifth, extending the lead to 17-4.
GAME NOTES
- Alabama A&M finished with 19 runs on six hits and left eight on base
- KJ Stanfield went 2-for-2, with five RBI and three runs scored
- Raymond Clark (2-5) started on the bump, fanning two, walking one and scattering just two hits in three innings
- Killian McLaughlin, Nick Espinola and Edgar Rodriguez saw action in relief
- Tuskegee finished with four runs on six hits, committed three errors and stranded six on base
- Jaylen Hill (0-1) took the loss, surrendering five runs (one earned) on one hits, walking four and striking out one in 0.2 of an inning
- Jordan Peterman, Mehki McKenzie and Cayden Smith pitched in relief

Alabama A&M begins a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series on Friday as the Bulldogs play host to Prairie View A&M. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. from the Bulldog Baseball Field.
