BATON ROUGE, La. | Ezekiel Salama did it again on Sunday as he broke his own school record in the hammer throw, highlighting Alabama A&M University's opening day of the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at A.W. Munford Stadium.
Salama, who set the previous mark of 54.55m at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 18, finished second in the event, throwing a personal-best mark of 55.86m.
On the women's side,
Amaya Mitchell-Howard also claimed a silver medal in the hammer throw, with a personal-best mark of 54.12m.

WOMEN'S TRACK
- Laila Gaynor qualified for the 200m finals, running a second-best time of 23.71 in the prelims
- Chelsea Whitehurst ran the sixth-best time in the 400m hurdles to qualify for the finals in 1:03.18
- In the 1500m prelims, Brianna Samuels finished sixth, logging a time of 4:48.53 to qualify for the finals
- Norma Rodriguez set a personal-best time of 39:35.87 in the 10000m to take third, while Taylor Wingo ran 41:48.38 to place seventh. Neveah Carrizal also set a personal-best time of 43:50.43 to claim ninth
WOMEN'S FIELD
- Amber Jamison placed 11th in the long jump at 5.53m
- In the javelin, Ajanae Cressey recorded a personal-best mark, with a throw of 34.87m to finish sixth
- In the heptathlon, Cressey sits in fourth, with 2878 points through four events
MEN'S TRACK
- Eric Barker set a personal record and qualified first in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 51.32 in the prelims, while Ryan Johnson just missed qualifying, finishing 10th in 55.17
- In the 1500m prelims, Bravin Kibitok qualified for the finals with the second-fastest time in 4:12.57
- Eric Brannon finished eighth in the 10000m, registering a time of 34:25.62, while Zachary Cooper placed 10th, logging a time of 35:11.17
MEN'S FIELD
- Justin Walker posted a season-best mark in the long jump in finishing third at 7.47m
- In the decathlon, Andrew Reaves is eighth after five events with 2161 points
