THE HILL | Miles Jackson collected four hits and scored twice, but it wasn't enough as the Alabama A&M University baseball team dropped the second game of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series with Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 13-6, on Friday at the Bulldog Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A day after being shutout, Alabama A&M (10-39 overall, 2-25 SWAC) didn't waste too long getting on the scoreboard as the Bulldogs took advantage of an error to grab a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Miles Jackson opened the frame by reaching on an error and advanced to third on an
Isaac Castro ground out. Jackson scored when
Desmore Joseph singled through the right side as AAMU got off to a great start.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (18-32, 16-9) responded in the top of the second inning with four runs on five hits, while taking advantage of an error to grab a 4-1 lead.

Back came the Bulldogs in the bottom of the second as
Dre Amaral singled to begin the inning and advanced to third on a base hit by
Angel Rivera. With two outs, Amaral scored on a Jackson singled down the line in left, closing the gap to 4-2.

The Golden Lions picked up two runs in the third and fourth innings to extend the lead to 8-2, but the Bulldogs cut the deficit to 8-3 with one run in the bottom of the fourth.

UAPB added two more runs in the fifth, pushing the margin to 10-3.

Back came Alabama A&M in the bottom of the sixth, pushing across three runs on four hits to cut the deficit to 10-6.

The Bulldogs loaded the bases in the eighth with two outs and came away with no runs as Amaral flied out to deep center to end the scoring threat.

The Golden Lions put the game away in the top of the ninth three runs, stretching the lead to 13-6.

- Alabama A&M finished with seven runs on 14 hits, had three errors and stranded 13 on base
- Miles Jackson went 4-for-6, with two runs scored and one RBI
- Desmore Joseph was 3-for-5, with two runs driven in

- Nick Espinola (0-13) surrendered six runs on seven hits, with three strikeouts and two walks in three innings

- Arkansas-Pine Bluff finished with 13 runs on 15 hits, committed six errors on left 10 on base
- Eli Gries-Smith went 3-for-6, with five RBI
- Trinidad DeLaGarza was 3-for-4, with three RBI and two runs scored
- Collin McLemore went 2-for-3, with three runs scored and two RBI
- Major Spence gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits, along with one walk in two innings.
