NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team ran its winning streak to three straight after cruising past Tennessee State, 3-0, on Wednesday night at Kean Hall.
Alabama A&M (8-2) jumped out to a 20-4 lead and breezed through the opening set, 25-10. The Bulldogs rolled to a 25-19 second-set win and closed out the match in the third, 25-22.
Alabama A&M, which defeated TSU for the first time in 10 meetings, finished with 30 kills, 42 digs, 27 assists, 11 block assists and 10 service aces.
Fatima Ramirez, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week, led AAMU with eight kills (.278 hitting percentage), along with four digs and two service aces.
Rayishon Jackman posted seven kills, four digs, one block assist and one service ace.
Kaydee Smith tallied a team-high 12 assists, while
Briana Smith dished out 10 assists and recorded a team-high six digs.
Tennessee State (1-7) finished with 22 kills, 31 digs, 23 assists, 13 total blocks and three service aces.
Aliyah Harris paced the Tigers with six kills, three digs and one block solo. Sagaia Reilly added 11 assists, five kills, three digs, two service aces and two blocks. Erini Bitsaktsi led the defense with eight digs.
