Nisaan Martinez combined for 30 kills as the Alabama A&M University volleyball team rolled past North Alabama, 3-1, on Tuesday night at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium
Alabama A&M took the opening set, 25-18, but North Alabama answered by winning the second, 25-18, tying the match at 1. Back came the Bulldogs in the third set, 25-15 and held on in the fourth set to defeat the Lions, 25-23.
Alabama A&M (3-1) registered 57 kills (.285 hitting percentage), 62 digs, 53 assists, 7.0 total team blocks and seven service aces.
Jackman posted a double-double of 16 kills and 15 digs, along two assists. Martinez hit a match-high .525 to finish with 14 kills, three block assists and three digs.
Briana Smith and
Kaydee Smith dished 32 and 12 assists, respectively.
Fatima Ramirez fell one kill shy of a double-double, finishing with nine kills and 15 digs.
North Alabama (2-2) recorded 56 kills, 62 digs, 56 assists, 5.0 total team blocks and three service aces.
Kendall Barnes led the Lions with 21 kills and six digs, while Dylann Garner added 12 kills and six digs. Nicole Sargent posted 11 kills, while Kinslee McGowan added 49 assists.
