LOUISVILLE, Ky. | Records continued to fall on Saturday as the Alabama A&M University men's and women's track & field teams concluded the two-day PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Saturday at the Norton Healthcare Sport and Learning Center.
The women's 4x400m relay team set a new school mark, breaking a six-year-old record. The team of
Shelby Sanders,
Brianna Samuels, Gaynor and
Alisha Wilson finished fifth, logging a season-best time of 3:42.93 and beat the previous record of 3:43.82 set in 2020.
Gaynor also posted a third-place finish in the 400m, clocking a time of 54.61, as Cincinnati's Davenae Fagan grabbed the gold, with a time of 53.91.
Another record fell, this time in the men's 4x400m relay team. The team of
Kody Pugh, JoeQuez Keith, Jashon Gordon and
Talil Atkins placed fifth, registering a season-best time of 3:13.16, and beat the previous record of 3:15.63 held by
Brian Johnson,
Eric Barker,
Kody Pugh, Atikins set in 2023.
