Belton Nominated for Sixth Woman Award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University senior forward/center Jaida Belton has been nominated for the Sixth Woman Award by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and the SWAC Game ChangeHer Awards Committee.

Belton spent the past three seasons at Texas Southern before transferring to Alabama A&M this season. She has registered 802 career points and with one rebound on Saturday against rival Alabama State, will have amassed 800 career boards. Her career highs include 24 points and 18 rebounds, both coming against the Bulldogs in 2024.

This season, the Baltimore, Md. native is averaging 7.4 points and 7.1 boards. She has registered eight double-digit point performances, including a season-high 18 points at Bethune-Cookman last weekend, and four double-double performances.

The award presentation to honor the Sixth Woman of the Year will take place at the SWAC Game ChangHer Awards Brunch on Thursday, March 12, in Atlanta, Ga.

The Sixth Woman Award recognizes an outstanding student-athlete whose contributions off the bench exemplify leadership, resilience, discipline, and impact beyond statistics. This distinction honors a player whose presence shifts momentum, strengthens team culture, and reflects the highest standards of SWAC excellence.
