THE HILL | The Alabama A&M women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon at home, falling to 5-9 overall on the season.
Chattanooga secured early momentum by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The Bulldogs' duo of Tstitsi Mahere and Melissa Mwakha showed a competitive effort at No. 3 doubles, holding a 4-2 advantage before the match was left unfinished.Â
In singles play, Alabama A&M battled across the lineup but was unable to turn the tide. Alicia Owegi faced a tough challenge at No. 1, while Nardine Salem and Naomi Blanks also competed at the middle courts. Chattanooga clinched the match with straight-set victories at multiple positions to secure the 4-0 result.Â
The Bulldogs showed resilience in several unfinished matches, including strong efforts from Sofia Sotelo Raya and Melissa Mwakha, who each pushed their opponents deep into sets before play concluded.
