THE HILL | Keilon Parnell blasted a two-run homer in the ninth inning as the Alabama A&M University baseball team dropped a 10-2 decision to Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday afternoon at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
Middle Tennessee (13-12) got a run in the first inning and struck for two more in the third to grab a 3-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders added one run in the fifth, along with three in the seventh and ninth for a 10-0 advantage.
Alabama A&M (7-20) picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth as Parnell belted a two-run shot over the right field wall to close the gap to 10-2.
Parnell paced the AAMU offense by going 3-for-5, with two RBI and one run scored, while
Brycen Hammonds,
Colin Mason and
Miles Jackson each collected two hits.
Virgil Heath (0-2) took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits, with two strikeouts and one walk in 2.1 innings.

Edyn Barber,
Jordan Nolley and Griff Minor worked in relief.
Bryant Beranek (1-1) earned the win, striking out two and scattering five hits in five innings. John Michael Pickens and Mason Dobbs saw action out of the bullpen.
