NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama A&M women's tennis opened SWAC Tournament play with a dominant 4-0 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Friday at City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

The Bulldogs controlled the match from the start, securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Tstitsi Mahere and Alicia Owegi earned a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Gabrielle Henderson and Sofia Sotelo Raya followed with a 6-2 win at No. 2 to give Alabama A&M the early advantage. 

Carrying that momentum into singles play, Alabama A&M quickly took command across the lineup. Sofia Sotelo Raya delivered a strong performance at No. 3 singles with a straight-set 6-0, 6-2 win, while Tstitsi Mahere added another point with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 6. 

Alicia Owegi secured the clinching point for the Bulldogs at No. 1 singles, sealing the 4-0 sweep for Alabama A&M. 

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will continue to compete in the SWAC conference tournament and play against Alabama State on April 18th. First serve is scheduled to start at 10 am.
