THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University baseball team used an eight-run seventh inning as the Bulldogs rallied to defeat Tuskegee, 14-8, on Tuesday afternoon at the Bulldog Baseball Field.

Tuskegee (10-25) loaded the bases in the top of the first inning and came away with just one run to grab the early 1-0 lead.

The Golden Tigers added to the lead with one run in the fourth to extend the advantage to 2-0.

Alabama A&M (8-27) got a run back in the bottom of the fourth when
Brycen Hammonds, who was hit by a pitch to begin the inning, came across to score on a wild pitch as the Bulldogs trimmed the deficit to 2-1.

Back came Tuskegee in the fifth, scoring three runs on three hits to push the advantage to 5-1.

The Bulldogs plated a run in the bottom half to close the gap to 5-2, but the Golden Tigers answered in the top of the sixth with a run to stretch the lead to 6-2.

Alabama A&M, which took advantage of 15 walks and seven hit basemen throughout the day, rallied in the bottom of the seventh and erupted for eight runs on four hits to take a 10-6 lead.

Cam Finn opened the inning with an infield single and stole second.
Miles Jackson walked and with two outs,
Chris Walker singled to left to plate Finn and Walker.
Keondre Fields was hit by a pitch and
AJ Anderson walked to load the bases.
Keilon Parnell brought Walker in when he was hit by a pitch. After a pitching change,
Charles Morris drew a walk to plate Fields and Finn reached on a base on balls to score Anderson. Jackson followed with a single to center as Parnell and Morris scored and Finn came across when Hammonds reached on an infield hit.

Tuskegee took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth and scored a pair of runs to cut the deficit to 10-8.

Back came the Bulldogs in the bottom of the inning with four more runs to extend the lead to 14-8.

Virgil Heath started on the bump for the Bulldogs, giving up one run on two hits, with three strikeouts and two walks in two innings.

Raymond Clark worked out of the bullpen.

Lorenzo Bailey got the start on the mound for the Golden Tigers and surrendered just three walks in two innings. Kriss Ross, Carter McKenzie, Jared Harmon (0-3), R.C. Smith, Richard Powell IV and Rodney Mudd II pitched in field.

Alabama A&M begins a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series on Friday as the Bulldogs play host to rival Alabama State. First pitch for the series opener against the Hornets is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the Bulldog Baseball Field.
