Memphis claimed game one, 8–1, before completing the series with a 12–4 victory in game two.Â
In the opener, the Bulldogs were held to four hits while Memphis capitalized early and added insurance late to pull away. Memphis struck first in the opening inning and extended its lead with a multi-run second inning. Alabama A&M showed signs of life midway through the game, but the Tigers responded with four runs in the fifth to put the contest out of reach.
In game two, Alabama A&M found more rhythm at the plate, highlighted by a solo shot from Hannah Wyroski. The Bulldogs finished with six hits, but Memphis answered with an offensive performance of its own, tallying 12 runs on 10 hits.
After Memphis jumped ahead early, Alabama A&M briefly cut into the deficit with a run in the fourth inning. However, the Tigers responded with a six-run fifth inning to create separation and secure the sweep.Â
Wyroski led the Bulldogs offensively in game two with a home run, while multiple players contributed hits as Alabama A&M looked to generate momentum at the plate.
