HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University Department of Athletics will hold Super Bulldog Weekend April 10-12, with several events on campus, including the annual Maroon & White Spring Game.
The annual scrimmage concludes the spring slate for the Bulldog football team and is open to the public. Gates will open at 1:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 3 p.m. at Louis Crews Stadium.
The format for this year's Maroon & White game will be the offense versus the defense. The defense will begin with 17 points and the offense will have to come from behind and pull ahead to win the game. The scoring includes the following: defense receives one point for a three-and-out stop and three points for every turnover. There will be a 40-minute running clock in the first and second half. The clock will not stop for time outs, penalties, incompletions or out of bounds.
Dray the Drummer (
Dray LaBorde) will be the host for the annual spring game and will bring the energy to promote the Maroon & White game.
The weekend begins on Friday as the men's and women's tennis teams will play host to Tuskegee at 1 p.m. at the AAMU Tennis Courts. Prior to the match, Alabama A&M will honor and recognize six seniors playing in their final home match. The Bulldog baseball team will welcome rival Alabama State to The Hill at 2 p.m. and the AAMU softball team opens a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series against Mississippi Valley State at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, the day begins at 10 a.m. with Senior Day at the Bulldog Softball Field prior to Alabama A&M's doubleheader with Mississippi Valley State. The AAMU baseball team will have Game 2 of its series with Alabama State at 1 p.m. followed by the annual Maroon & White Spring game at 3 p.m. at Louis Crews Stadium.
The weekend concludes on Sunday with the series finale as Alabama A&M takes on Alabama State at the Bulldog Baseball Field with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
In addition to the numerous athletic events, an open house will be held at the AAMU Event Center, beginning at 9 a.m. The open house includes an onsite acceptance, campus tours and scholarship information. There will be AAMU Band and Choir auditions and will include lunch for attendees.
