HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Seventy-Nine Alabama A&M University student-athletes earned degrees at the University's spring commencement ceremony on Friday at the AAMU Event Center.
 
Of the undergraduate class, 16 of the graduates were football student-athletes, eight were from baseball, six from women's outdoor track & field, five each from men's basketball, men's outdoor track & field, women's basketball and women's soccer, while three came from cheerleading, men's golf, men's tennis and women's volleyball, two from women's bowling and one each from softball and women's tennis.
 
Thirteen student-athletes received their masters degrees, including eight from football, two from softball and one each representing cheerleading, women's basketball and women's bowling.
 
In addition, of the 66 undergraduates, 22 received Summa Cum Laude, 13 Magna Cum Laude and seven Cum Laude, with eight also earning special recognition.
