BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Two-hundred and seventy-two Alabama A&M University student-athletes were named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Commissioner's Honor Roll, the conference announced on Friday.

Alabama State (73 percent) claimed the All-Academic Achievement Award which is presented annually to the athletic program that has the highest percentage of student-athletes that earned a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better during the academic year.
Alabama A&M (72 percent) finished second, while Alcorn State (63 percent) finished in third place overall.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis.
Women's competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
