Alabama A&M does not open its bowling season until December, but the Bulldogs open the season as the #11 team in the country, according the National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) national preseason poll. Nebraska is the near-unanamous choice as the top team in the country, and Alabama A&M is the highest ranked among three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) schools in the Top 20. Southern broke in the poll at #14, and Jackson State is #19.
The Bulldogs open their season the first weekend in December at the Capital City Classic, which is hosted by Jackson State. The Bulldogs are led by honorable mention All-America selection Melanie DeCarlo and the lone senior on the team, Tiffany Clark.
