Alabama A&M opened its home softball schedule Saturday against Tennessee State, but it was the Tigers taking two victories back to Nashville, 12-4 and 14-0. The losses snapped a three-game winning streak for Alabama A&M and moved the Bulldogs' record to 3-4 on the season.
Game 1 - Tennessee State 12, Alabama A&M 4
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the bottom of the first on when Chantelle Statham singled and later scored on a wild pitch. It would be the only lead A&M would hold on the day. Tennessee State fired back in the top of the second with five runs and scored at least one run in each inning to follow.
Caitlin Bradford drove in a run for A&M in the third on a ground out that score Re'Quincia Mack from third base. Mack tripled and scored in the fifth, and Hali Buie double and scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to account for the A&M runs.
Buie took the loss in the circle for the Bulldogs giving up 10 hits and eight earned runs.
Game 2 - Tennessee State 14, Alabama A&M 0
Alabama A&M managed just two base hits, a pair of singles by Bradford and Paris Sanders. The Tigers scored four runs to open the game in the first and put the game away with an eight-run fourth.
Krissy Miles took the pitching loss, giving up 15 hits and 10 earned runs.
