Softball Wins One, Ties One at Miles

Game 2 called because of darkness

Re'Quincia Mack pounded out five hits on the day, and Alabama A&M defeated Miles 4-3 in the opener and tied the Golden Bears 6-6 in the nighcap as it was called due to darkness.  Mack finished the day 5-7 with three runs scored for the Bulldogs. The SWAC Preseason Player of the Year, Mack is now batting .500 on the season with 12 runs scored, four triples, two doubles, and a home run.

Mack led off game one with a double and scored later in the inning giving A&M a 1-0 lead. Miles tied the game in the fourth with a single run.

The Bulldogs answered with two runs in the top of the fifth, highlighted by a Mack RBI triple. The Bulldogs added the difference making run in the six on a Miles fielding error.

Hali Buie recorded the win for A&M in game one.

Mack again ignited the offense right away in game two, singling and scoring the first of three A&M runs in the top of the first.  Sabrina Hurns drove in two runs with a double in the inning.

Miles scored six straight runs before A&M rallied to tie the game, again led by Mack, who triples and scored in a two-run fifth.  Buie walked and later scored a single run in the sixth to tie the game.

The game was called after the seventh inning due to darkness.
