Softball Takes Two From Golden Bears

Bulldogs dominated Miles in game two

Alabama A&M took game one 4-3 and dominated game two 13-3, as they defeated Miles College on Thurs. Feb. 26 at Bulldog Field. The team improves to 6-6-1 on the season and will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. for the SWAC Roundup on March 6.

Alabama A&M 4, Miles 3
A&M struck first in the bottom of the third inning when Re'Quincia Mack rounded the bases to give the Bulldogs their first run of the game. Miles responded with a run of its own in the top of the fourth. Paris Sanders homered  in the bottom half of the inning for the 2-1 advantage. Miles had three runs scored in the top of the fifth to take the lead, but the Bulldogs answered with another Mack run. Sanders scored again in the sixth for the 4-3 final.

Mack led the Bulldog offensive attack, hitting 3-of-4 with a RBI and two runs. Sanders was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Caitlin Bradfield went 2-for-4 and drove in one. Pitcher Hali Buie fanned five batters in seven innings pitched.

Alabama A&M 13, Miles 3
The Bulldogs dominated the fifth inning by scoring nine runs to end the contest. For the game, Mack went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a run batted in. Bradfield was 3-for-4 with two runs. Hali Buie had two hits and two runs. Corissa Deadwyler and Miles also recorded two runs. Sabrina Hurns, Sanders, and Britney White recorded one run apiece.
