The A&M softball team fell to the Lady Governors of Austin Peay, 6-1 and 12-0, in Wednesday's doubleheader action at Bulldog Field. The Bulldogs were held to four hits in the first game and just two hits in the second game. A&M will host its senior weekend and home game finale against Alcorn starting Friday, April 17 at 4 p.m.
Re'Quincia Mack went 2-for-4 at the plate in the first game to lead the Bulldog's at the bat. Caitlin Bradfield recorded the only other two hits for A&M, and drove Chantelle Statham home for the lone Bulldog run of the first game.
The Bulldogs continued to struggle in the second game, recording only two hits. Krissy Miles and Hali Buie both went 1-for-2. This marks the fourth time this season A&M has been held scoreless. With the losses, the Bulldogs fall to 9-21-1 on the season.
A&M is back in action on Friday when it hosts Alcorn. First pitch it set for 4 p.m.
