Bulldogs Drop Three at Alabama State

A&M falls to 7-16 overall

The Alabama A&M Softball team dropped its weekend series against Alabama State; 10-2, 7-5, 8-4. With the losses, the squad falls to a 7-16 overall mark, including 1-10 in conference play. The team is back in action when they take on Belmont in Nashville, Tenn on April 6 for a double-header. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

In the first game, Corissa Deadwyler and Caitlin Bradfield scored the only two runs for A&M in the top of the second inning. Britney White had a hit and drove in both Deadwyler and Bradfield.

The Bulldogs had a better performance at-bat in the second game with six players recording at least a hit. Ebony Thomas recorded two hits a two RBI. Deadwyler went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Re'Quincia Mack, Sabrina Hurns, Hali Buie, Krissy Miles, and Deadwyler accounted for the five Bulldog runs.

Mack led A&M at the plate with two hits and a run in the third game. Hurns recorded a hit and two runs.

A&M will travel to Belmont for a double-header on April 6 beginning at 1 p.m.
