Game 3 - The Alabama A&M softball team dropped its season finale to the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley this past weekend at Bulldog Field. The maroon and white also honored its two seniors Krissy Miles and Hali Buie. For the series, the Bulldogs struggled to get things going on the offensive end as they were held to seven runs for the entire series. A&M finishes its 2010 campaign with an 8-25 overall record, including a 3-14 mark in the SWAC.
MVSU 10, AAMU 2
The Bulldogs recorded seven hits, but could only manage two runs in the match. Hali Buie went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored to lead the A&M offense. Melanie Menchaca recorded the only RBI for the maroon and white. Jasmin Riley rounded the bases in the bottom of the third for the second A&M run.
MVSU 10, AAMU 2
Both A&M runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Menchaca rounded the bases to put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard. Sabrina Hurns' sacrifice fly to left field drove Corissa Deadwyler home for A&M's last run. Krissy Miles took the loss on the mound, giving up 11 hits in five innings of work.
MVSU 12, AAMU 3
Hurns went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a run batted in. Fayesha Ward had two hits and a run, while Paris Sanders had a hit and a RBI. Menchaca received the loss - pitching three innings and giving up two runs.
