Lady Bulldogs Gear up for SWAC Roundup

NORMAL -The Alabama A&M University softball team (4-11) travels to Hattiesburg, Miss. to take part in this weekend's Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) round up. While there, the Lady Bulldogs will face SWAC Western division opponents Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, Southern University, Grambling State and the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff over the course of the three-day event.

The Lady Bulldogs open play on Saturday morning, taking on Prairie View (6-6) at 10 a.m. PVAM has a solid hold on second place in the West standings. Saturday afternoon at 12:30 the Maroon and White will play Texas Southern University (8-5), and end the day versus Grambling State at 4:30 p.m. GSU has an overall record of 5-8.

Junior Raven Grubbs leads the Lady Bulldogs offense batting .360 this season. In 15 appearances junior Jasmine Riley is second on the team with a batting average of .286.

The Lady Bulldogs will finish up the weekend on Sunday against, Southern (4-14) at 10:00 a.m. and UAPB (2-20) at 12:30 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs will continue conference play when they host league rival Alabama State University. The three game series opens on Friday, March 30^th with a single game beginning at 3 p.m. and ends on Saturday, March 31^st with a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
