AAMU to Host ASU in Softball

NORMAL - The Alabama A&M softball team will host in-state rival Alabama State University to a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series this weekend.

The Maroon & White (5-14, 1-3 SWAC) earned their first Southwestern Athletic Conference victory by sneaking out a 6-3 win in the SWAC round up against Southern.

Leading A&M at the plate is junior Jasmine Riley with a .333 batting average.

The Hornets bring in a 9-22 overall record and a perfect 4-0 SWAC record with Brehanna Rodriques leading the team with a .338 batting average.

The three-game eastern division series will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday with a single game and a double header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Currently ASU holds the third spot in the Eastern division while the Maroon & White is forth.

The event will be held at the Bulldog softball field on “The Hill”.
