NORMAL - The Alabama A&M University softball team hosted Austin Peay State Lady Govs in double-header action on “The Hill”. The Lady Bulldogs were defeated by APSU 6-3 and 6-0.

With the pair of losses the Lady Bulldogs fell to an 11-20 overall record while the APSU Lady Govs improved to a 14-25 record on the season.

In game one, Shaquille Morris, Jasmine James and Nicole Norton scored the Lady Bulldogs only three runs of the game, with one run in the second inning and two runs in the sixth inning of play.

Jasmine Riley led A&M's offense, going two for three at the plate. The Lady Bulldogs recorded four hits on the day. Brittney Harmon suffered the loss, while giving up five runs on three hits in one inning.

The Lady Govs scored one run in the top of the first and five runs in the fourth inning with five hits for the game.

In game two, Nicole Norton and Shaquille Morris would have the only two hits of the game.
After leading the Lady Bulldogs 2-0 at the top of the second inning, the Lady Govs would add four more runs in the sixth inning giving them the 6-0 win.

Anissa Britt suffered the loss for A&M. In three innings of work she gave up four hits and two runs and recorded one strike out.

A&M seeks to improve their season record as they travel to Nashville, TN. The Lady Bulldogs will take on the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State University, April 24^th. Game time is 2 p.m.
