Softball Falls to Jackson State

JACKSON - The Jackson State Lady Tigers posted an 8-0 win over the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs Friday evening.

With the win JSU improves to a 28-25 overall, and an 11-3 SWAC record. AAMU falls to 11-21 while dropping 6-8 in the conference.

The Lady Tigers quickly posted a one run lead in their opening frame off of four hits and reeled off another two runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead 3-0.

JSU went on to post five more runs in the fourth innings to seal the victory.

The Lady Bulldogs could only get one hit off of pitcher LeEthel Guillory as she struck out 11 batters.

Anisa Britt suffered the loss for Alabama A&M. In five innings of work she allowed eight runs on nine hits with two strike outs.

Brianna Zeigler led the Maroon and White at the plate with one hit.

JSU and A&M will return to action for the final two games of the series at the JSU softball complex. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
