GRAMBLING - The Alabama A&M softball team dropped its final SWAC contest of the season to the Lady Tigers of Grambling State 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Bulldogs recorded four hits, but could not plate a run.
Brianna Zeigler went 2-for-3 at the plate, while teammates Raven Grubbs and Nicole Norton each had one hit.
GSU scored the only runs of the contest in the bottom of the third inning.Hilary Velasquez scored first on an RBI double from Mikiesha Henson. Latrice Wood’s RBI single brought Henson home for the insurance.
Anisa Britt was credited with the loss for the Lady Bulldogs. She pitched all six innings and allowed seven hits, while striking out four batters.
With the loss A&M drops to 12-23 overall and 7-10 in the conference.
Grambling improves their record to 11-23 overall and 5-12 in the conference.
The Maroon and White will return to action for its season finale in Nashville, TN where they will take on Tennessee State, Wednesday, May 2. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
