MVSU Sweeps A&M in Softball

NORMAL - Alabama A&M dropped its Saturday afternoon three game series to the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes by a score of 5-1 at Bulldog Field.

A&M scored their first run of the game in the sixth inning off Anisa Britt's single through the left side that brought home Brianna Zeigler.

MVSU opened the scoring with a homer by Kisaki Kamaka in the top of the second inning. Up 2-0, Nicole Burr homered to left center in the sixth inning to put Valley in scoring position. Two more runs crossed the plate to extend a 5-0 lead.

Britt took the loss for the Lady Bulldogs, giving up five runs in seven innings, striking out seven batters.

A&M returns to action on April 11, to face Miles College. The double header will begin at 2 p.m. at Lady Bulldog field.
