Box Score
IRONDALE - The Alabama A&M softball team fell to Prairie View A&M 1-0 in the elimination game of the 2012 SWAC softball tournament on Saturday afternoon.

A&M gave PV a new look with a different pitcher. Freshman Brittany Harmon started for the Lady Bulldogs as she was quickly relived by All-SWAC Anisa Britt.

Harmon faced a bases loaded situation, when she was pulled in the first. Britt came in and got the Maroon and White out of the jam.

In the top of the second, A&M threatened with two runners on, however Shanika Johnson was caught stealing at second. Britt got on board with a double, but the inning was over when LaQueesha Poe grounded out to first.

In the third inning A&M advanced a runner to third, but the Lady Panthers shut out the next three batters.

Both teams remained scoreless in the bottom of the fourth, when PVAM’s Olivia Pace scored on an RBI single from Katelyn Beset to right field.

A&M had a chance in the top of the sixth, but key miscues by base runners stopped the Lady Bulldogs from crossing the plate.

“I’m very proud of my team, they played hard this season, we will take this momentum into next season.” stated Nedra Brown.

Although the Lady Bulldogs ends loss it was a successful season as the team advanced to third round of the conference tournament an placed two players in the All-SWAC team.
