Normal- For the first time in the 2013 season, The Lady Bulldogs will take on competition from their fellow members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
The 0-11 Maroon & White team has struggled thus far in the 2013 campaign having given up 81 total goals while scoring three. Â The team had its best offensive production, in their last game, a 3-2 loss to Eastern Kentucky University. Estelle Esperance and Ana Huertas each scored a goal combining to complete A&M's only multiple goal game on the year. Â
To open conference play the team will take on two of their Eastern Divisional foes, Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State. Valley currently sits at 1-6 overall, while Alcorn holds a 0-4 season record.
On Friday, October 4 in Itta Bena, MS, the Maroon & White will play the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State. Last year the teams met in Huntsville with the Lady Bulldogs capturing a 2-nil victory.
This season's meeting will take place at the R.W. Harrison Complex and kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
After facing MVSU, A&M will travel across the state to face the Lady Braves of Alcorn State. The winless ASU team will host the Maroon& White at Spinks-Casem Stadium on Sunday, October 6, at 1:00 p.m.
Last year, A&M captured a come from behind 2-1 overtime victory over the Lady Braves in front of AAMU's hometown fans.
Last seasons' victories over these two squads gave A&M their first regular season title since 2007.
