Softball on the road to face Savannah State & South Carolina State

Normal- The Alabama A&M softball team (5-9) is coming of a defeat at the hands of the Albany State Golden Rams. They will continue their spring break road trip when they face two opponents from the MEAC.

The Lady Bulldogs will take on the Lady Tigers of Savannah State University in double-header action on March 12^th. This contest will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Tiger Softball Complex. The Tigers narrowly defeated the Maroon & White 4-3 in the meeting earlier this season. SSU is batting .321 under head coach Jose Gonzalez on the season, led by Michaela Patton’s .468 average and Torrian Wright’s 21 RBI’s. . This will be the second meeting of the teams during the 2013 season.

Following the meeting with SSU, A&M will take on South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. The SCS Bulldogs currently hold a 10-9 season record, and are coming off a double-header loss to Anderson College.

The Maroon & White took the 13-12 slugfest victory in the first meeting between the teams earlier this season. This match up will take place Thursday, March 14^th; first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs will lean on Jasmine Riley’s .619 batting average and Anisa Britt’s’ team high nine RBI’s to lead them to victory over the break.
