Normal-The Alabama A&M softball team will host the Bruins of Belmont University on Wednesday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Lady Bulldog Field.
Last year BU swept the Maroon & White in a three game series in Nashville, Tenn.
Belmont holds a 7-12 record and will enter the contest coming off three losses to Eastern Kentucky to open their Ohio Valley Conference season.
The Bruins are led at the plate by sophomore Kat Hollingsworth, who is batting .385 with nine doubles, a triple, three homeruns and 18 RBI's. Junior Kim Johnson is batting .300 while sophomore Kirbie Ferrell follows with a .290 average and four RBI's.
The Lady Bulldogs sport a 7-11 mark heading into Wednesday's duel. Jasmine Riley, who is batting .485 with five doubles, one homerun and 10 RBI's, leads A&M at the plate; Anisa Britt follows, batting .422, after collecting four doubles and three homeruns.
In the pitcher’s circle, Cassandra Brown has tossed more than 49 innings, tallying 29 strikeouts for an 3-5 record. Britt, who has a team-best 3.60 ERA, has recorded 20 innings of action and seven strikeouts.
Wednesday afternoon's contest is slated to kick-off at 2 p.m. and can be followed via live stats.
