Tigers Too Strong For Lady Bulldogs

LONGVIEW, Texas - Opening the 2013 Softball SWAC round-up the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern defeated the Lady Bulldogs softball team 10-2.

Texas Southern took an 8-0 lead, into the bottom of the third inning.

A&M picked up two runs in the bottom of the third, when Brianna Zeigler and LaQueesha Poe scored for A&M. Fayesha Ward led the Lady Bulldogs going one for three at the plate, while teammate Jasmine Riley was one for two and accounted for two RBI’s.

Megan Gray took the loss, for A&M. Gray faced 15 batters while striking out one.

The Maroon and White will return to play two conference games on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., when they face Southern University and Arkansas Pine-Bluff at the Lear Athletic Complex in Longview, Texas.
